Even More Info

It’s a given that everyone is looking to set a goal and then achieve that goal. Not only achieve that goal but have some way to boast about that achievement. Whether that’s the yellow jacket for winning the tour de france or the small trophy you won at the school disco for the best dance moves, people love to boast about their achievements.

One of the most common ways to do this is in the form of certificates. A quality card with your name plastered on it and a seal of approval that can be framed and put on the wall for everyone to see. With that in mind you may have a reason to order certificates for your employees or your class at school. You may even want to hold a mock awards ceremony and your mates stag do. There are lots of uses for certificates but what goes into making a great certificate?

Clear yet Sophisticated
Certificates are designed to present an achievement in a way that others can see. Whether they’re hung on the wall or just presented when needed, they need to look great and be clear what they are representing. If you are handing out certificates for completing your first aid training course, make sure the printed certificate has a clear indication of what first aid course they completed. Pick a font that looks professional but not too fancy that it becomes difficult to read. Make sure to include your company brand if possible and also a nice big space for the name.

Naming The Certificate
If you have a certificate, chances are it has your name in big bold writing in the middle. This is arguably one of the most important parts of the certificate as it signifies who it belongs to. The best way to name the certificate is by handwriting it so it’s important to give enough space for even the longest of names. Handwriting them allows a personal touch and also allows you to order plenty of certificates in advance and write the names of recipients as required. It also allows you to get creative with metallic pens and fancy calligraphy handwriting to add to the official feel of your certificate.

Design
How do you plan on designing your certificate? Will you go full colour and make a bright, wacky design or will you go minimalist and sophisticated with a black and white design with a silver or gold seal in the corner to prove its authenticity? Make sure to include your school/business logo and name along with the name of the certificate issuer. This is important for tracking achievements back to suppliers in the future. You could also provide a space for the date to be written on the day of issuing. Make sure you leave a big space for the name and also make it very clear what your certificate represents, whether its a qualification or excellent academic progress at school.

Seal of Approval
Nothing makes a certificate look more official than a stamp or sticker as a mark of authenticity. Whether that be a shiny metallic sticker or a stamp with your business name on so that the certificate is made official. It also helps others certify that the certificate is genuine and not forged. Pop it in a rigid envelope and send it off the the lucky receiver of the award knowing full well that they earned it!

Who could use a certificate?
If you run a training course or coaching retreat, a certificate is almost a necessity for your business. You want something that you can give to your participants at the end of the course to congratulate them on completing the course but also to act as proof for when they want to use your training later on. If you provide a First Aid training course, your participants will need a certificate to give to potential employers to show that they are qualified in First aid.

You may also want certificates to round off an event or to hand to employees in a reward ceremony at the end of the year. This could be certificates for hard work, best sales or who had the best dress sense throughout the year. You can present them all with a smart looking printed certificate.
